5th-8th Grade Youth Group News

November 17, 2019

Please join us on Sunday, November 17th 5:00pm to 6:30pm in the Christ the King Parish Hall for a Thanksgiving Service Project

It’s that Time of Year!

Christmas Sharing will begin the weekend of November 16th & 17th and will continue on November 23rd & 24th. If you would like to participate, you can take the name of a child and purchase a suggested gift for him/her. It means so much to those who would otherwise have nothing for Christmas. The need gets larger every year, so if you can, feel free to sponsor more than one child.

Returns are needed as soon as possible, no later than December 7th & 8th.

We are looking for volunteers during each Mass the weekends of 11/16-17 and 11/23-24 to help distribute the gift requests. There is a sign up sheet in the vestibule or contact Kerri at 315-652-9266

Each year we get requests from parishioners to sponsor an entire family; if you have interest please contact the office directly before November 16th.

Attitude of Gratitude

November 26, 2019

Join us Tuesday, November 26th @ 6pm for the “Attitude of Gratitude Celebration”.  For those with an attitude of gratitude - and those who want one!

Altar Cleaners Needed

Looking for a simple way to help out and become involved in a parish ministry? There is a need for additional altar cleaners. This involves cleaning and refreshing the altar by washing the chalices and holy water fonts, dusting, polishing, vacuuming and overall cleaning the sanctuary. These tasks are performed on a rotating basis by a dedicated group, each scheduled approximately every 6 weeks.

The Altar Cleaning Ministry is open to any member of the parish who wishes to help keep the Church altar area clean and beautiful. For more information or to sign up call the office at 315-652-9266.

Know Somenone in Need - Food Pantry

The Christ the King Food Pantry is here to provide non-perishable food items to families that might need a little extra help. We want to help as many people as we can, so if you or someone you know could benefit from this please let us know. More specifically, with the holidays coming up we are here to offer assistance with either Thanksgiving and/or Christmas Food Baskets. Whether you are in need of food now or could use assistance at the holidays, we want to help! All recipients are kept confidential. You can call the office or talk to Father Zach.

CTK Outbound Ministry Needs Your Help!

The Outbound Ministry is intended to be a ministry of care and presence which seeks to provide a bond of compassion for those in need. Please let us know if you or someone that you might know wish to be the recipient of support and fellowship.

The Outbound Ministry consists of companionship, communion, prayers, visits and food baskets. Please let the Christ the King know of anyone who is sick (home or in the hospital), in a care facility, isolated in elderly community or home, has sick children, is home-bound, bereaved or anyone who needs someone to reach out to them.

Contact the office at 315-652-9266. If you have any questions contact Dc. Tom Cuskey at

Important updates on FORMED

Many of you have enjoyed using FORMED (, the online library of films, videos, books and more about our faith. This is a free service for you and anyone you care to share it with, underwritten by the parish.

Two important changes:

     1. As a result of our linkage - and because Pope John XXIII is also a subscriber - we will be sharing this sponsorship going forward. Our new/revised parish login is: XJJC8K. Use this code to register as a user and access all of the FORMED content.

     2. The FORMED platform is undergoing exciting changes, making it easier to use and offering content that’s easier to access and share. Go to to experience this wonderful faith resource.

New Mass Intentions Process

We will be introducing a new method for scheduling Mass Intentions beginning the weekend of November 2nd & 3rd.

Names will be read at ALL Masses for the week - Saturday thru Friday.  We will accommodate up to 8 names per week.  With fewer Masses on our schedule, this change will enhance our ability to meet the needs of our parishioners.

Ava's Awesome Lemonade

In case you missed it, young parishioner Ava Musci and her Awesome Lemonade Stand were recently featured in a news item on News Channel 9.

Ava has been an active member of Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation since 2017 and is determined to bring hope to children with cancer. She has raised more than $2,000 which has helped fund more than 40 hours of cancer research.

Hope Appeal

Last year the parish exceeded it’s goal of $38,108.14, and by going over the goal the parish received 50% of the overage back into the parish, which helps keep our ministries going. This year if we all give to the Hope Appeal we will easily meet Christ the King’s 2019 Hope Appeal goal of $38,000. This is a great opportunity for the parish to show their support for Hope Appeal funded ministries, programs, and service. Please pray on the gift that you can give to help support the on going mission of the Diocese. Consider a $175.00 (averages out to $.49 a day or $14.83 a month). Your gift, no matter the size, whether it is a pledge or a one-time gift, is important.
