Session 3 - Advent & Christmas
Advent
Did you ever have to wait for something?

Sometimes it is hard to wait. But the wait can be worth it!!

ADVENT is a time when we wait and get ready for the birth of Jesus.
be bossy
pray
be helpful
complain
think of Jesus
pay attention
We show PATIENCE while we wait for Christmas.
PATIENCE means "waiting peacefully for something to happen."

How can you wait patiently? What words show you being PATIENT?
The Advent wreath reminds us we are waiting to celebrate the birth of Jesus.

The wreath has 4 candles. We light a candle each week to remind us Christmas is getting closer!

Here is a wreath for you to color. The wreath should be green, and 3 candles are purple and one is pink
Jesus and Mary were waiting too!

While they waited, they had to go far from home. They had no where to rest, so they stayed in a stable while they waited for Jesus to be born.

When Jesus was born, they put him in a MANGER to sleep. A Manger is a long box that animals eat from.

You can make a manger for Jesus while you wait too! Each day you do something nice for someone, you can put straw (or yellow pieces of paper) in the manger to make it soft for the baby Jesus

The Story of Baby Jesus
A long time ago, in the town of Nazareth, lived a young woman named Mary....

An angel came to the shepherds.
He said, "Jesus is born.
He is in Bethlehem.
He is lying in manger."

Then angels sang "Glory to God"

The shepherds went quickly to see Jesus. How happy they were!
